Open enrollment is only for families that wish to move their student to a school that is different from their assigned neighborhood school.

First Round: November 1 – December 1

• First round open enrollment is not first-come, first-served. Students will be randomly assigned a number based on their Enrollment priority

• Parents can view offers in the EngagED Parent Portal beginning December 11th at 8:00 a.m.
• Offers must be accepted by December 18th at 4:00 p.m.
• The Portal closes at 4:00 p.m. on December 18th and reopens on January 22nd.

• Students not offered a spot in the First Round remain on the waitlist for the Second Round.

Second Round: January 22 – August 1 

• Families who miss the First Round stay on the waitlist during the Second Round.
• Second-round submissions are added to the end of existing waitlists in the order they are received.
• Offers will be sent via the email provided during Open Enrollment, depending on space availability.
• Parents have 48 hours to respond to an offer.
• May 1: Siblings of newly enrolled students who remain on the waitlist will be placed at the top of the waitlist. This is to ensure we are able to keep our families together.

SkyView Academy’s Preschool program is now accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year and beyond. Enrollment is available for students ages 3 (by Oct. 1st) until Kindergarten on a first come, first served basis.

Parents must request enrollment into the program by completing an application. Submission of this form does not guarantee enrollment. Preschool Application. 

All SkyView Preschool 4-year old students who meet the age requirements for Kindergarten are now automatically enrolled (as space is available) in Kindergarten at SkyView if they choose.

• *Siblings of currently enrolled SkyView students in Kindergarten -12th grade
• Students who are currently attending SkyView Preschool
• Children of full-time staff who are currently employed by SkyView
• Children of Founding Families
• Siblings and children of SVA Alumni (earned high school diploma)
• All other students (in-district and out-of-district) who have completed Open Enrollment through the DCSD EngagED Parent Portal.

*In the first round of DCSD open enrollment (November 1 – December 1), students with siblings already enrolled at SkyView Academy (K-12) receive priority. There is no priority in the second round. If you miss the first-round deadline, your child will be placed on the waitlist after first-round applicants, based on when your information is submitted in the second round.

To ensure sibling priority, use your current Parent Portal login. If the child you wish to enroll is not listed, click the “+” button to add them. This ensures priority is correctly applied through the open enrollment tool. For more details, refer to our Enrollment Policy.

All current SkyView Academy families are required to complete the Intent to Return form each January. This helps the school plan for staffing and budgeting for the upcoming year.

If your enrollment plans change after submitting the form, please inform the Registrar as soon as possible.
