I am excited and thankful to continue as an assistant men's and head women's high school soccer coach here at SVA. I have been coaching at SVA since 2013, first as the middle school boys head coach for a season, then as an assistant in both high school programs, and then shifting to women's head coach in the 2022 season.

I grew up playing soccer here in Colorado for various clubs and the Longmont High School Trojans and went on to play in college at Colorado Christian University and still enjoy playing in various adult leagues. I teach 7th grade history at SVA in addition to coaching. My coaching experience prior to SVA includes various sports camps, as well as using soccer as a means of outreach locally and around the world through Athletes in Action both coaching and playing. I am thankful for the way soccer brings people together, provides an opportunity to work hard, compete, and build character, and the joy that can be experienced through it. I look forward to and hope to be able to have a role in the impact soccer may have in the lives of the young people I'm coaching, as it has in my own life.

I am excited to be taking on the role of assistant coach this year. I have been teaching 9th-12th grade history at SVA for 8 years, and I am also one of the HS Deans of Academics. From the coaching side, I was the assistant varsity coach for Delta High School and helped coach the SVA MS boys’ and girls’ soccer teams for several years. I have always been passionate about soccer both from the player's perspective and now from the coach's perspective. I attended and played at Cherry Creek High School, for the Real Colorado club, and spent my collegiate career playing for Northern State University in South Dakota. Until a recent knee injury took me out of the game, I looked forward to playing in an adult league each week. Soccer, my college coach in particular, and my teammates shaped my life in positive, important ways. Soccer is the classroom for lessons that extend well beyond the pitch. I hope to contribute to the success of the program and assist Coach Sunberg through my passion for the game, experience, and knowledge of the game. "Futbol is life." -Ted Lasso
