Special Education
At SkyView Academy, our Special Education Team is dedicated to empowering each student to reach their full potential within a safe, challenging, and supportive environment. Our primary goal is to empower students to learn, grow, and thrive while feeling respected and affirmed throughout their educational journey.
We are committed to supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities by providing special education services designed to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Students who qualify for services have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), a personalized program that ensures they receive tailored instruction and related services to best meet their unique needs.
Our special education program serves students with mild to moderate disabilities, such as Specific Learning Disabilities, Speech or Language Impairments, Other Health Impairments, and other categories. Families can explore detailed information about educational disability categories on the Colorado Department of Education website. Additionally, the Special Education Team at SkyView Academy, in conjunction with our Douglas County Special Education Coordinator, works closely with families of students with more significant disabilities in order to determine a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).
SkyView Academy’s Special Education Team is comprised of highly trained and licensed professionals who work collaboratively across our elementary, middle, and high schools. Our team includes learning specialists, speech-language pathologists, a school psychologist, social workers, an occupational therapist, interventionists, and special education support professionals.
